DocAsk Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
What DocAsk Does
DocAsk is a travel document organizer that uses AI to classify and extract data from your travel and identity documents.
What We Collect
We collect minimal data:
- An anonymous device ID (random identifier, not linked to your hardware or identity) used solely for managing usage limits
We do NOT collect:
- Your documents or their contents after processing
- Your contacts, messages, or personal data
- Your location or hardware device identifiers
When you classify a document, only the document image or PDF is sent to our API for processing. No other data is transmitted.
How Data Is Processed
- Documents are sent over HTTPS (encrypted in transit) to our server
- Our server forwards them to a third-party AI provider (OpenRouter/Google) for classification
- The extracted data is returned to your device
- We do not store your documents on our servers
Anonymous Device ID
When you use the classify feature, we generate an anonymous device ID (random identifier, not linked to your device hardware or personal information) to manage usage limits. This ID is stored only on your device and in our rate-limiting system, and is automatically deleted after 48 hours of inactivity.
Third-Party Services
DocAsk uses OpenRouter to process documents. Their privacy policy applies to data they handle.
Permissions
- Internet — required to send documents to the classification API
- Storage — required to access documents you select for classification
